چکیده
Incidents of sub-synchronous oscillations (SSOs) reported in the Hami power network western China indicate that torsional dynamics a synchronous generator (SG) can be excited by grid-connected wind farm and trigger SSOs. The concept open-loop modal resonance (OLMR) reveals excitation mechanism from standpoint system condition. This paper proposes novel damping torque analysis (DTA) for detecting assessing risk OLMR exciting SSOs complex with multiple farms. proposed is modal-computational free also accurately identify responsible Moreover, DTA provides physical insight into to facilitate an understanding essential reasons may excite effectiveness demonstrated evaluated example

Subsynchronous Torsional Interaction of Wind Farms with FSIG Wind Turbines Connected to LCC-HVDC Lines
High-voltage direct current (HVDC) lines with line-commutated converter (LCC) are being increasingly employed to transmit bulk wind power over long distance. However, this may cause the sub-synchronous torsional interaction (SSTI) between the wind farms and the LCC-HVDC system. The SSTI characteristics of wind farms with fixed-speed induction generator (FSIG) wind turbines connected to LCC-HVDC...
متن کاملDamping Subsynchronous Resonance Oscillations Using A Dynamic Switched Filter- Compensator Scheme
The paper presents a new effective method to damp subsynchronous resonance (SSR) – shaft torsional oscillations for large synchronous generators. This is achieved by using a dynamic power filter and static compensator (DFC) scheme. The proposed scheme with a switched series capacitor compensation and a modulated Tuned-Arm-Filter can be used to damp SSR oscillation modes using a novel Tri-loop E...
متن کاملDamping of Subsynchronous Resonance Using a Vsc-hvdc Link
A possible detrimental effect of onshore series compensation in the GB grid is the appearance of subsynchronous resonance (SSR). In this paper, a control scheme for a VSC-HVDC link capable of damping subsynchronous oscillations is proposed in order to effectively counteract the potential damage caused by SSR in steam turbines. The VSC-HVDC link has been modelled to maintain its primary function...

متن کاملApplication of an Additive Self-tuning Controller for Static Synchronous Series Compensator for Damping of Sub-synchronous Resonance Oscillations
In this paper, an additive self-tuning (ST) control scheme is presented for a static synchronous series compensator (SSSC) to improve performance of conventional PI control system for damping sub-synchronous resonance (SSR) oscillations. The active and reactve series compensation are provided by a three-level 24-pulse SSSC and fixed capacitor. The proposed ST controller consists of a pole shift...
